ANTHONY ‘RUMBLE’ JOHNSON, MMA KNOCKOUT PHENOM DIES AT THE AGE OF 38

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, an MMA fighter known for his impressive record of knockouts, has passed away at the age of 38. On Sunday, a number of well-known people in the MMA world posted on social media that Johnson had passed away. According to Yahoo Sports, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis—a rare immune system disorder—caused organ failure, which resulted in his death.

In the UFC, Johnson competed at welterweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight. One of the sport’s most terrifying punchers.When he made his debut in the UFC on June 12, 2007, in Hollywood, Florida, he had a record of 3-0 and had defeated Chad Reiner in just 13 seconds. “Rumble” won 17 of his 23 MMA matches by way of a knockout. Johnson defeated José Augusto Azevedo via knockout at Bellator 258 in May 2021.That secured him a fight for the light heavyweight title against Vadim Nemkov the following month at Bellator 268; however, Johnson later withdrew due to an illness that was not disclosed. Johnson wrote on Instagram at the time that he wished he could describe how sick he “truly” felt. He asked for prayers and family and friends’ support.
