Cherelle Griner worries that she won’t be able to see Brittney Griner again.
The WNBA star’s spouse discussed her feelings regarding the athlete’s potential future in a preview for
her upcoming interview with Gayle King for CBS Mornings. The interview will take place while the
athlete is still incarcerated in Russia on drug charges.
In the clip from October 5, Cherelle said of Brittney, “As much as all of them are telling me a distinct
definition of what BG is, it feels to me as if she’s a hostage. “It frightens me because when you watch
movies, these situations frequently do not end appropriately. In most cases, they never catch the person
again.”
She went on to say, “That is my life, so I’m sitting there wondering if we can get her back?” Do I ever get
a chance to see my spouse again? The fact that everything is so unprecedented and subject to change. It’s
kind of terrifying because I feel like I’m listening to something new every day.

medical marijuana back home to treat a persistent injury.

participant’s arrest, and she has also met with President Joe Biden, who stated in a statement following
her sentencing that Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney, It is unacceptable, and I call on Russia to
immediately release her so that she can be with her spouse, family, teammates, and friends.
Brittney’s legal team appealed her case later in August. The Biden administration claims to be following a
hearing that was scheduled for Oct. 25.
