Golden State Warriors enforcer Draymond Green reacted to an opposing player grabbing his ankle during a playoff game against the Sacramento Kings by stomping on his chest. For that action, the National Basketball Association has suspended the championship Warrior for the next playoff game.
The decision to exclude Green from the upcoming Warriors-Kings playoff game was probably influenced by his history of unsportsmanlike conduct in league play. After a shot was made, Green was within reach as Sabonis fell to the ground, so he grabbed and clutched Green’s right ankle. In reaction, Green wrenched his leg out of Sabonis’ grasp and stepped hard on the Kings player’s chest. The game was stopped when the referee blew the whistle after observing the brutal play. Green was penalized with a Flagrant Foul 2 and removed from the game. Sabonis received a technical foul because he started the action.
