Wade's sense of style suddenly emerged at the 2022 Met Gala after simmering for more than ten years.
Day 8 of Black History Month
After leaving the NBA, Dwyane Wade made the most of his time by starting a new fashion line. The three-time NBA champion serves as the brand’s new spokesperson and showcases three of its newest eyewear designs. The three pairs are all different versions of the aviator, two of which have the fabled Medusa head on the arms and the centerpiece in black and white color schemes. The third pair has elegant lines and frames with a brown color that are more muted and wearable. All items cost $345, according to Versace’s website.

Wade’s debut campaign for the Italian clothing line was photographed by renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by Wade’s go-to stylist Jason Bolden. Wade’s fashion sense fits in nicely with the historic brand’s concept, according to a statement from Versace about the cooperation.
“Charisma and excellence, Dwyane Wade is a natural champion of each and is perfectly in line with the Versace look and attitude,” Versace said in a statement. “Illustrious photographer Mario Sorrenti enhances Dwyane’s natural character in a series of images that brings the Versace Eyewear styles to life, highlighting the precision, designs, and confident details of three new styles which reinterpret the iconic Medusa symbol on the bridge and temples of the frames.”

Wade’s sense of style suddenly emerged at the 2022 Met Gala after simmering for more than ten years. Wade arrived with only his cane and wearing a white tux. Without a doubt, Versace made the suit. He was inspired to collaborate with the company by Donatella Versace’s kind gift of another double-breasted, leather suit. Wade is happy to be a member of the family after the connection developed into what it is now.
“When the opportunity came to further our relationship last year and to be a part of this Versace Eyewear campaign, I was like, ‘Oh, wait, low-key, this is something I’ve always wanted to do,’” Wade told Esquire. “I travel the world, I see all those good-looking David Beckhams and all those guys all on these billboards, always with eyeglasses or with watches or all these things. So, it was a big opportunity to be a part of a huge campaign.”
