A British father and son were given life sentences for the murder of a robber who had allegedly stolen from their neighborhood.

According to LADBible, Neil Charles was killed by David King and his son Edward, after they assaulted him with a ninja sword and knife. When the father and son heard about a thief trying to open doors on cars and residences in the neighborhood in June 2021, they decided to take matters into their own hands. Neil Charles was found guilty of burglary and stealing before he passed away. They allegedly had a “fascination” with weaponry and didn’t bother to call the police, according to investigators. Edward utilized the 27-inch ninja sword, while David used a two-edged knife. Charles was stabbed in the chest, and the ninja sword severed his knee as he passed away.

Around three in the morning, David also called the police to report a car thief who tried to flee when he tried to pursue him down. He went on to say that the man, Charles, had left the scene. Additionally, he informed the contact center that he was holding a knife but wasn’t sure if the would-be thief was harmed badly or was just being silly. When Suffolk Police arrived on the scene, they discovered Charles on Winsford Road and David outside of his residence. Two days later, in a nearby hospital, he passed away from his wounds. Edward was held on June 20 while David was taken into custody right afterwards. They first refuted the accusations of murdering Charles on purpose, but they were found guilty in May 2022.

Earlier this week, the father and son were issued life sentences. Heather King, David’s wife, said they plan to appeal the convictions.- Steve Sijenyi
