FORMER NBA STAR BEN GORDON ARRESTED FOR BEATING UP MCDONALD’S SECURITY GUARDS

In an article for The Players' Tribune, he discussed his struggle with mental health and admitted to having attempted suicide. He admitted in 2020 that he had bipolar disorder ever since he left the NBA.

Ben Gordon, a former NBA star, was detained once more, bringing his legal woes to a new level. According to TMZ Sports, Gordon was arrested on Friday after becoming violent inside a Chicago McDonald’s. The Chicago Police Department reported that Gordon struck a male guard and threw him to the ground, and then pushed another guard to the ground. The violence started when Gordon was being led out of the fast food restaurant for disturbance.

The former Chicago Bull was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor battery: causing bodily harm and making physical contact, and for assaulting the two security guards. Less than a month ago, Gordon was accused of punching his 10-year-old son for dropping a book while the two were waiting for a flight to Chicago at New York’s LaGuardia airport. He was eventually taken to the Port Authority police station, but the officers who intervened were hurt during the arrest.

The 39-year-old has been in trouble with the law multiple times since his last appearance in the league with the Golden State Warriors in 2015. It started in 2017 when he was arrested for disarming a fire alarms in his Los Angeles apartment building. A few months later, he got into an argument with a woman and ended up in the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. He attacked, robbed, and pulled a knife on a Manhattan man while robbing him a few weeks later.
