After an alleged altercation during a pickup basketball game at his house, Ja Morant filed a countersuit against the teenager who sued him.

According to Shelby County Circuit court documents obtained by The Commercial Appeal, Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant asserts that Joshua Holloway, 16, gave false information to the police about the NBA player punching him repeatedly and then leaving the house with a gun tucked in his pants. According to Morant’s legal team, Holloway’s deceptive claims may have lost him this season’s All-NBA honors as well as millions of dollars. Additionally, they assert that Holloway started the altercation when he tossed a ball in Morant’s face and then made a gun threat.

The petition stated that when Holloway tossed the ball at Morant, Morant approached him, balled up his fists, and struck him once. The attorneys claim Holloway may have sent the threatening Snapchat message to Morant based on the screen name it was sent from, which is included in Morant’s countersuit. Now that he has recently won his most recent struggle, it is not surprising that Morant would file this lawsuit. – Steve Sijenyi
