LEBRON JAMES RECEIVES BACKLASH AFTER SHOWING SUPPORT TO CLEVELAND BROWNS QB DESHAUN WATSON FOLLOWING SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIMS

After Watson tossed three touchdown passes and led the Houston Texans to a comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints, James sent out the congrats message.

Twitter users were upset after Lebron James posted about quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns’ most recent game statistics. In addition to receiving an 11-game suspension and paying $5 million in fines for several infractions of the league’s personal conduct code, Watson was accused of sexual assault by 22 women. He started acting again a few weeks ago. Watson missed the 2021–2022 NFL season as a result of 22 women who gave him massages while he was a member of the Houston Texans accusing him of sexual assault. A second grand jury declined to indict him almost two weeks after the first one did.

After Watson tossed three touchdown passes and led the Houston Texans to a comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints, James sent out the congrats message. Users of Twitter reacted right away to the Tweet posted by the potential all-time top NBA scorer.

On August 30, the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns began serving his ban. The NFL challenged Judge Sue L. Robinson’s decision to ban Watson for six games, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell named former New Jersey Attorney General Peter C. Harvey to hear the league’s appeal. Watson volunteered to take an eight-game suspension and a $5 million fine. Watson should have been banned for six games this season at first, per Robinson’s recommendation. The NFL demanded a $5 million punishment and an indefinite ban for at least one season. – Steve Sijenyi
