LGBTQ ADVOCATES TURN ON BEYONCÉ AND ARE “DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED” AFTER DUBAI CONCERT

Beyonce allegedly got $35 million for the hour-long performance, during which she sang 19 songs. She chose to accept a hefty salary over giving back to the neighborhood that served as the main inspiration for her most recent album.

The Beyoncé concert in Dubai wasn’t without criticism. Rennaisance received praise for its appreciation of the ballroom and LGBTQIA+ communities, but some fans are now outraged. The goal of the LGB Alliance, a 2019-founded advocacy organization in the United Kingdom, is to “claim the right of lesbians, bisexuals, and gay men to label themselves as same-sex attracted.”

Jackson doesn’t object to Beyoncé’s performance, but rather the fact that she chose to do it in Dubai, where it is illegal and dangerous to have an LGBTQIA+ relationship, thus her performance “casts a shadow over her support for lesbians and gay people.

“Beyoncé is a huge icon for many gay people. LGB Alliance is deeply therefore disappointed that Beyoncé has agreed to give a lucrative concert in Dubai, where same-sex sex acts are a criminal offence, potentially punishable by death,” Jackson said, according to The Telegraph.

Some claim that because Beyonce allegedly got $35 million for the hour-long performance, during which she sang 19 songs, she chose to accept a hefty salary over giving back to the neighborhood that served as the main inspiration for her most recent album. It was her first performance in four years, and thanks to that $35 million, fans received quite the spectacle. The Texas native was sent 16 feet into the air when the hotel’s fountain erupted in flames all around her, as part of the grand opening of Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal hotel, according to The Telegraph.
