Day 23 of Black History Month
Bryan-Michael Cox, a Grammy-winning producer and composer, has been appointed senior vice president of A&R and executive producer by Love Renaissance (LVRN), a prominent hip-hop and R&B record label located in Atlanta. B. Cox will concentrate on discovering new artists while also advancing the careers of the label’s current superstar roster, which includes Summer Walker, 6LACK, Alex Vaughn, and others. Moreover, he will oversee the executive production of all in-house productions, ensuring the highest level of quality with each release.

“A&R has become a lost art in this new generation of music because of the gap in relationship between A&R, the artist and the label. Bryan-Michael Cox is a respected and accomplished producer and executive, and he’s the perfect addition to our team to help continue in bridging that gap. Bryan not only speaks the same language as the artist, but he also shares the same values as LVRN. We are on an unwavering mission to disrupt and redefine the rules of the music industry while also preserving the quality and integrity of the music. When I think of someone who handles music with care, I think of Bryan and we’re excited to welcome him home to Atlanta and LVRN,” says Justice Baiden, LVRN Co-Founder.

B. Cox, a producer who has worked with artists including Usher, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, and others, has 38 number-one singles to his credit and nine Grammy awards. He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2009. In addition, he received the SESAC Icon Award in 2022 and won the SESAC Songwriter of the Year award eight times in a row. With 200 million albums sold globally, he has earned his spot among the Top 5 Producers and Songwriters of the Decade (2000–2010) on the Billboard list.
In recent news, LVRN received a large investment from Matt Pincus, co-founder and CEO of MUSIC, totaling over $25 million. Pincus also joined the board of directors for the label, which is presided up by Tunde Balogun, president of LVRN. His investment, which places the company’s worth at above $100 million, will offer growth capital to LVRN’s existing operations in order to increase capacity and open up new options for strategic expansion. – Steve Sijenyi
