In Oklahoma, a pet monkey was shot dead after assaulting a lady, and the victim is now talking about the injuries she received as a result. The event took place earlier this week, and it started when police received a complaint of a monkey being sighted on someone’s front porch, according to a statement posted on social media by the Dickson Police Department.
As they got on the scene, the animal “jumped on the rear of his police car,” according to the authorities. The monkey then went towards the woman and climbed upon her head before inflicting injuries. The victim was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment, while the primate scurried away into the woods to avoid being caught. Furthermore, the officers managed to track down the animal’s owners nearby, even though they were ultimately unsuccessful in capturing it. But once the victim’s family friend showed there, the monkey was shot and killed.
KTEN interviewed the victim, Brittany Parker, and obtained more information outside of the police statement. While describing the incident, Parker said that the animal ran up her back and ripped her ear in half like you would a piece of paper. The outlet also points out that, as monkeys are considered domesticated animals under Oklahoma law, the owner didn’t need a permit to own the primate. – Steve Sijenyi
