Ticketmaster is charged with concealing the second Montreal performance on purpose in order to "squeeze out" as much money from customers.
The It’s All A Blur Tour was launched by Drake less than two weeks ago, and now Ticketmaster is being sued on claims that it illegally inflated ticket prices for “Official Platinum” events. The platform is being charged by LPC Avocat Inc., a Montreal-based legal company, with “intentionally misleading consumers for their own financial gain,” according to the Toronto Star.
The legal team claims that its client spent roughly $800 on each of two “Official Platinum” tickets to see Drake perform in Montreal on July 14. However, the guy saw that the identical seats were around $350 cheaper once another show was added for July 15 the very following day. As a result, the law firm says that Ticketmaster’s “Official Platinum” tickets are an artificially inflated premium that are neither ‘premium tickets’ nor ‘some of the best seats in the house.’
“Ticketmaster unilaterally decides which tickets it advertises and sells as ‘Official Platinum’ based on a given event. The result is that most, if not all, of the tickets advertised and sold as ‘Official Platinum’ are neither ‘premium tickets’ nor ‘some of the best seats in the house’ and are, in fact, just regular tickets sold by Ticketmaster at an artificially inflated premium in bad faith.”

Furthermore, Ticketmaster is charged with concealing the second Montreal performance on purpose in order to “squeeze out” as much money from customers. The Quebec Superior Court has not yet authorized this class-action lawsuit’s request for compensatory damages, which are “in the aggregate the amount of the difference between the prices charged for ‘Official Platinum’ tickets and what their regular price should have been.” The law firm also asks for $300 in punitive damages for each client. While we’re at it, we should mention that Ticketmaster has recently received a lot of negative press online.
